For 2010, a new 'Speed hones its manners with revised steering, a stiffened suspension, and fatter Dunlop SP Sport tires. Of course, the car sports a completely new look, one that is decidedly more pugnacious than the standard-issue hatchback and sedan, which are already on sale. The hood-mounted intercooler scoop is functional, but the 2.3-liter four beneath it carries over unchanged; turbocharged to the tune of 263 hp, it still drives the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. The transmission itself benefits from slightly taller gearing on cogs two through five, a tweak intended to make delivery of the engine's 280 lb-ft of torque a bit more linear. Top speed remains an electronically governed 155 mph.

A comprehensive upgrade sees the Land Rover LR3 tick up one notch to LR4 for 2010 (by Land Rover's count, it's the fourth generation of the Discovery, as the vehicle is known in other markets). Although there's a new grille, headlamps, and other minor tweaks outside, the bulk of the changes are inside the cabin and under the skin. A new interior uses more soft-touch materials and groups more functions in the central touch screen. The old 4.4-liter V-8 is supplanted by a new, direct-injected 5.0-liter unit, and output jumps to 375 hp and 375 lb-ft of torque. Chassis upgrades include revised variable-ratio power steering and suspension geometry as well as upgraded brakes. A 360-degree-view camera, trailer sway control, and keyless ignition are some of the technology highlights.
The Range Rover Sport (pictured) gets a slightly more extensive - or at least more noticeable - restyling than its siblings, with a new front-end design (including front fenders), LED lighting, and new nineteen- and twenty-inch wheels. The LR4's V-8 appears here, too, along with a supercharged variant that makes 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque. Other mechanical changes also amp up the sport factor. There are paddle shifters for the six-speed automatic, beefier brakes, adaptive dampers for the Supercharged model, and a new dynamic mode for the Terrain Response System (which changes throttle and shift mapping, damper firmness, and steering effort). The Range Rover Sport also adopts the LR4's new tech features, and it gets a richer interior of its own.

Only 350 examples will be built, and buyers will choose between two rear wings: either the "Aeropack Wing" shown here, which purportedly allows a top speed of 209 mph, or the smaller, standard wing that enables you to soar to 212 mph.

The University of Kentucky’s solar car, competitor in the Great American Solar Car Challenge, is powered only by the sun’s renewable energy without releasing any emissions. Their advanced research is helping automobiles of the future and the progression of implementing solar technology to street legal cars. 2004 marked the start of development on Gato del Sol II.

The team decided to shift to a rigid fiberglass/polystyrene composite shell with a more aerodynamic foil significantly decreased the respective power consumption. A lighter chassis and shell contributed to a 50% reduction in weight. Electrically, substituting nickel metal hydride for lead acid batteries, and mono-silicon for poly- provided for a huge boost in power. The new and improved team vehicle made its first showing at the 2005 North American Solar Challenge.

The Bentley S3 Concept will be priced at 150,000 american dollars. The producers will be targeting cashed-up buyers in the usual places, such as the Middle East, Russia the UK and North America.

Declared a world class power car by Hennessey the 700NM is figuratively head of its class with the Dodge Viper SRT-10 engine that offers 700 bhp/522kW 6,200 rpm and 645 lb-ft torque 5,200 rpm which offers an outstanding 3.3 sec from 0 to 60 mph and 7.0 sec to 100 mph, with a top speed of 214 mph.
On the outside it looks like a normal viper with a few exceptions like the VenomAero Exterior Aerodynamic Upgrades Kit a new lightweight alloy wheel upgrade with19×10 inch wheels in front, 20×13 inches in the rear and a 200 mph tested rear wing. Inside the jet viper has black and red leather appointments, a limited edition dash plaque, embroidered floor mats and matching luggage.

Concept cars give automotive designers a chance to let their imaginations run wild, often with outlandish results. But even by that measure, BMW has come up with something as strange as it is innovative — a shape-shifting car covered with fabric.
Instead of steel, aluminum or even carbon fiber, the GINA Light Visiionary Model has a body of seamless fabric stretched over a movable metal frame that allows the driver to change its shape at will. The car — which actually runs and drives — is a styling design headed straight for the BMW Musium in Munich and so it will never see production, but building a practical car wasn’t the point.

The New York Auto Show recently took place, and just like last year’s show, small and green is what caught everyone’s eye. Take the Scion IQ concept, a micro-subcompact tricked-out version of the Toyota IQ. A bit bigger than a smart car and a tad smaller than a mini, the vehicle strikes the perfect balance between between fuel efficiency, size and capacity, making it perfect for city driving.

The Scion version of the IQ has been slightly modified to make it just a bit hipper than the standard model. The car is 3.2 meters long and comes loaded with all the bells and whistles that you’d expect (ABS, brake assist, airbags). It is powered by a 1.3L vvt engine, which gives you a very decent 55 mpg. Not bad for a little car.

One of the world’s best Formula One teams is set to unveil its latest creation: an environmentally friendly supercar. McLaren says the P11, which will feature a regenerative breaking system and v8 diesel-powered engine with a scorching top speed of over 200mph, will be the greenest vehicle in its class.

McLaren is pitting its P11 against the likes of the Ferrari F430 Scuderia and the Porsche GT2. The ultra lightweight supercar is expected to accelerate from 0-60mph in less than four seconds, and come equipped with increased safety equipment. Now, these are all big claims, but is it truly accurate to call this vehicle ‘green’? Sure, the P11 may seem that way when compared to its supercar competitors. But when you consider its price tag—150,000 pounds, or roughly $218,000—and the other cars available on the market right now (the Tesla Roadster, for instance), one does have to wonder whether the P11 is the best McLaren could come up with.
